Bee-eaters Abuzz
Surging from their sandy nests in a dried-up riverbed, a breeding colony of carmine bee-eaters gathers at sunset before swarming off in a mysterious, swirling flight; by nightfall, the birds are back in their holes. During the day, bee-eaters catch honeybees and other insects, sometimes displaying them outside their holes to attract mates.
